Meet, Greet, Find Your Seat / Popsicles on the Playground is August 22
Don't forget about teacher Meet and Greet and Popsicles on the Playground on Tuesday, August 22. Teacher Meet and Greet will be from 4-5 PM and Popsicles on the Playground will be available from 4-6 PM. Please plan to visit your teacher first as teachers leave at 5 PM. Mt. Vernon Parks and Rec, Girl Scouts and 4-H representatives will have tables set up at Popsicles on the Playground.
PARKING ON TUESDAY! You may have difficulty parking during our 4-6 PM event. Our high school is also hosting a cross country meet. Both of these events are very well attended. If your family can walk or even carpool to Teacher Meet & Greet, this would help greatly.
First Day of School is Wednesday, August 23
School begins at 8:15 and dismisses at 1:00 PM. Please note: ALL early outs will have 1:00 PM dismissal times for the 2017-2018 school year. No preschool classes in session until August 28.
Mustang Meal Option
Mustang Meals will start Monday August 28. The first 3 days of school will be regular hot lunch only. The Mustang Meal menu has changed a little this year. All Mustang Meals include a milk and yogurt as well as a dessert if a dessert is being served with the regular hot lunch. Here is what the weekly Mustang Meal menu will be for the year:
Registering Your Student with MVCSD
You should have received a registration packet from the school. If you have not, please contact the school ASAP. If you have not completed the online registration and paid fees, please do so ASAP. It is very important that we have the most updated information and online permissions. Reminder: You will not receive future school notifications if all PowerSchool accounts are not updated through online registration. Thank you so much for taking care of this process.
Passes will be distributed to those students who purchased them through registration. Distribution will be done before the first home athletic event. It is a requirement that these Activity Passes be shown for admittance to each home event. Students without activity passes will need to pay to get in to the event. State-sponsored post-season athletic events (i.e. playoff/tournament games) always require payment for admittance for ALL students.
